On January 29, 2025, at 2127 hours (9:27 pm), units were dispatched on Box 1-10 to the 3000 block of Flag Marsh Road for a garage on fire attached to the house. First arriving A18 reported fire and smoke showing from the garage. E12 arrived seconds later and stretched a hand line to the garage door and attacked the fire. This rapid action resulted in a very quick knock down of the fire and prevented the fire from extending into the house. All residents were out of the house on arrival of fire units. There were no firefighters, civilians, or pets injured. The fire was contained to the garage area with only minor smoke and water damage to the house. The garage did suffer significant damage. A fire investigator was requested to the scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
Units from Carroll, Howard, and Montgomery counties responded to the scene with approximately 36 personnel and 16 units.
The origin and cause of the fire is being investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office. The results of the investigation are incomplete currently. Damage estimates and results of the fire investigation will be updated later by the MSFMO.
