On June 21, 2022, at the annual Maryland State Firemen's Association Convention and Conference in Ocean City, representatives of the MAVFC were on hand to present the Rookie of the Year Award, named for Past President C. Oscar Baker, to Luke Stevens from the Middletown VFD in Frederick County. This award goes to the new volunteer firefighter in the state who has successfully completed their basic firefighter and emergency medical training, as well as responded on calls and worked fundraising events.
FF Stevens has been a member of the Middletown VFD for less than two years and has completed a large number of fire service classes. His family has been involved in the fire service in Maryland for three generations. FF Stevens presented the judges with an outstanding resume' for this award.
Congratulations to FF Luke Stevens for his outstanding work in becoming a part of the Maryland Fire Service and for winning the C. Oscar Baker Rookie of the Year Award for 2022. |
