On Sunday evening February 28th at 1456 hours (2:56pm), Box Alarm 10-14 was dispatched for a house fire in the 2600 block of Doctor Stitley Road. New Windsor Engine 101 arrived to find a large two story farm house with heavy fire throughout the structure. E-101 requested the Rapid Intervention Dispatch and a Tanker Task Force. The size and age of the structure made it very challenging for crews extinguishing the blaze. A water supply fill site was setup at a nearby stream and a tanker shuttle was established hauling over 75,000 gallons to the scene. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
