Head On Collision Sends Three to Trauma Centers

On Tuesday, April 10 at 1611hrs (4:11pm), Rescue Alarm 1-8 was dispatched for a vehicle collision on Harrisville Rd in the area of Akers Drive. Chief 1 arrived first to find 2 vehicles had collided head on with 1 occupant trapped. Chief 1 established Harrisville Road command and requested additional EMS units, aviation, an additional engine to the scene, and another engine to establish a landing zone for aviation. Rescue 1 arrived and quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle and removing the drivers side door for access to the patient. A total of 3 patients were transported by MSP Trooper 2 and National Park Service Police Eagle 2 to trauma centers. Units were clear in approximately an hour.
